Xanthelasma are yellow deposits of fat which come from the bloodstream and settle just under the skin around the eyes. These formations can develop into larger patches and are normally flat to the inner corner of the eye, or form over the upper eyelids.
The most efficient way to remove xanthelasma is by surgical excision.
Formation of xanthelasma can be indicative of high blood levels of cholesterol. If clients are concerned with more xanthelasma returning, we would advise they have their cholesterol checked by the GP.
